Director of Production

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and mentor a team of producers/project managers, supporting training and growth.
Oversee planning across multiple projects, aligning budgets, schedules, and resources.
Manage forecasting, reporting, change orders, and risk mitigation.
Ensure high-quality, on-time, on-budget project delivery.
Support business development by scoping proposals and estimating resources.
Serve as an escalation point for project-related challenges.
Contribute to hiring and staffing strategies.
Improve and maintain project management processes.
Build and manage vendor, freelancer, and subcontractor relationships.
Negotiate and oversee scopes of work, contracts, and partnerships.
REQUIREMENTS:
10+ years in production or project leadership, ideally in creative tech, experience design, architecture, or related fields.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
Deep knowledge of project lifecycles from concept through installation.
Proven ability to manage complex budgets, schedules, and resourcing.
Excellent communication, client-facing, and negotiation skills.
Experience with tools like Smartsheet, Notion, or similar platforms.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Passion for inclusive, collaborative, and creatively driven work environments.
Preferred: experience in spatial computing, interactive exhibits, or public art.
Bonus: background in architecture/design-build or PMP certification.
Based on the information that has been provided to You & Them by our Client, the base salary for this position is in the $150K-$170K range depending on experience.

Coach and mentor creative leaders and freelancers
Attract, develop, and retain top creative talent
Communicate effectively across teams and resolve challenges

Project Leadership
Oversee all creative output, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision
Deliver compelling, high-quality work that meets strategic goals
Build strong client relationships and promote bold ideas
Collaborate with teams to ensure smooth project execution
Identify growth opportunities and expand project scope
Travel as needed for workshops, presentations, and deliveries
Business & Operations
Lead creative direction for new business proposals and pitches

REQUIREMENTS:
15+ years in a fast-paced design agency or corporate environment
Proven leadership in building and mentoring creative teams
Strong ability to pitch, present, and grow client relationships
Excellent communication, collaboration, and storytelling skills
Portfolio showcasing expertise in digital, UX, content, and 3D design
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in design or related field
Management/people operations training is a plus
