Production Artist — Packaging

You’re deeply experienced in packaging mechanicals, prepress, and print workflows, with a sharp eye for detail and a proactive mindset when it comes to spotting issues before they become problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build clean, print-ready packaging mechanicals across a variety of packaging formats and structures

  • Apply strong knowledge of FDA packaging requirements, barcode standards, and packaging production best practices

  • Interpret and work within complex dielines while maintaining accuracy and file integrity

  • Manage revisions across cross-functional teams including Marketing, Legal, Quality, Engineering, and Product

  • Set up spot colors, varnishes, finishes, and prepress specifications correctly within production files

  • Perform detailed preflight and quality checks, proactively identifying and resolving production or regulatory issues

  • Create and maintain Photoshop render templates and production-ready mockup systems for design teams

  • Maintain organized asset libraries, version control, and structured file systems across shared environments

  • Support multiple concurrent packaging projects in a fast-paced studio environment

  • Uphold high standards for organization, production accuracy, and packaging craft throughout all deliverables

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5–7 years of production art experience with a strong focus on print packaging and mechanical production

  • Deep knowledge of packaging production workflows, prepress, printing methods, and packaging specifications

  • Strong understanding of FDA packaging requirements and food/CPG packaging standards

  • Expertise in Adobe Illustrator and strong proficiency in Photoshop production workflows

  • Experience working within high-SKU or large-scale packaging environments

  • Ability to interpret structural dielines and prepare production-ready files accurately and efficiently

  • Strong organizational skills with disciplined file management, naming conventions, and version control practices

  • Comfortable working within formal workflow and approval systems (Workfront experience is a plus)

  • Collaborative, proactive, and highly detail-oriented approach to production work

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy
